Center for American Studies of Udmurt State University was created over 10 years ago. The Center was founded on April 28, 1998. The CAS staff members are mostly of volunteers. Thanks to their work CAS is widely known both in Russia and abroad. CAS sees its work in three main directions: research, training, consulting.

Core principals of our work are:

Cooperation with organizations and universities of USA (University of Central Florida(Orlando, FL), University of North Carolina(Evansville, NC), Brigham Young University(Provo, Utah), etc.);

Collection of library stock devoted to American Studies;

Convening various conferences and carrying out entertaining events;

Promotion of student academic and work exchange programs;

Language training;

TOEFL access courses training and performing the test of English as a foreign language in UdSU.

Annually, officers of CAS convene the Week of American Studies, as well as the UdSU Regular Scientific Conference Session devoted to topical issues of History, Politology, Geography, Law, Economy, Education, Literature, Linguistics and Culture of USA.

Club of the English language is one more achievement of the Center for American Studies. The Club Members improve their English language and culture skills. Native speakers are often guests of the Club meetings, which is highly profitable for the trainees.
