EGEA Annual congress ’08 “Russia and the EU contact zones: improving the relations” 14–19th of September, 2008. Kaysina Ekaterina, Ivanov Konsyantin and Tepaeva Darja were delegated from Izhevsk entity on the XXth anniversary EGEA Annual Congress. The Annual Congresses that are considered as the core EGEA activities make a significant contribution to development of organization. Generally speaking, they help to improve entities interrelations and give an impulse to fruitful cooperation between them. It should was emphasized also that last Annual Congress imaged the EGEA boundaries extending trend, cause it was the most eastern AC in the history of foundation. Circa 130 participants from different European countries learned about the regional peculiarities during common and workshop excursions (to Pskov, Izborsk fortress, Pechory monastery, national natural parks, local crafts production and big industrial plants). With in congress were organized workshop groups. We took part in two workshops: «European cultural heritage: measures of protection» and «Physical geography and sustainable development of noosphere». Besides the scientific programme there will be also informal activities that are planned to help to build up a good relations between EGEA members. For example, they will be get acquainted with the customs of different European countries by the presentation of traditional music, food, costumes.  |
