The main part of our teaching process is testing the initial Russian language skills of international students. The subsequent group distribution gives every student an opportunity to achieve the best result. The up-to-date educational means, methodological material in combination with practice on texts, vocabulary, grammar and phonetics make the education effective. Students usually study in the international groups. Great attention is paid to the practical language command, to the capacity to speak and comprehend.

Foreign citizens with any level of the Russian language may take the Russian language courses during the whole academic year (September - June) and during summer courses (July - August).
Studies are held 5 days a week.
The minimum courses period is 4 weeks.
There should be no less than 10 academic hours/5 studies per week.
One academic hour consists of 40 minutes.

In the beginning of studying in the International Education Center students have a test in order to define their level of the Russian language. According to results of testing, period and aims of courses, students are distributed into groups. One group usually consists of 3-8 students.

All educational programs are created in such a way that they take into account individual needs of students. Small educational groups and large amount of studies guarantee the effectiveness of studies. The main task of courses is to develop practical skills of speaking Russian; therefore special attention is paid to the following aspects:

    • Oral speech fluentness and correctness development
    • Oral speech comprehension skills development
    • Reading and writing skills development
    • Vocabulary enlargement
    • Functional grammar studying
    • Pronunciation correction

Students may have both group and individual courses. At the close of courses students get a certificate about their successful course graduation.

Students who need the Russian language in their professional activity may have additional courses of the Russian language.

The International Education Center organizes students` free time offering different excursion programs.

The Center provides students with all necessary teaching materials and gives them an opportunity to use the library, the Center`s classes, Internet-center, Multimedia-center, sport and culture centers of the UdSU according to the set rules.

A student must attend classes, perform educational program and observe norms and rules of behavior of students of the Udmurt State University, rules of using classes, materials and technical means of the International Education Center.

The center is not responsible for students` missing studies and doesn`t give additional studies in the schedule for non-attendance.
