«Mathematics connects other sciences, there is everything naturally, reasonable, exact. Besides the mathematical creation is a part of spiritual culture of the society. The maths developing degree defines the place of a country in world economy space.
Last time it is significant that with developing of computer techniques applied mathematics comes first. It is important correctly treating incoming information, systemizing results, so that all makes the profession of mathematician, applied mathematician and informatics worker more attractive.
Our graduates greatly differ from the same students others universities, here at the university they are taught first of all researching work, creating this “basics and sciences”, working out necessary programs. Studing at the faculty is very complicated, but interesting!»

News for entrants
On the 20th April at 11.00 am at the faculty takes place the Olympiad for entrants. There can take part fully for free. Participants should register till 10.30 am, take passport, student’s card or school’s reference with photo.
All participant will be marked, so these grades’ll be accounted in mathematics exam (orally). Winners take in the faculty as firsts.

The Faculty of Mathematics was founded in 1987 when the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics (which had existed since the foundation of the University) was divided into two faculties: the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Mathematics.
