Trip to the Sacred Spring: Bolshiye Siby
On September 18 the village of Bolshiye Siby (Mozhga District of the Udmurt Republic) cordially welcomed our international students and shared its unique mode of life, traditions, ceremonies and culture of the region, where prayer places of the ancient Udmurts ‘Kuala’ still exist.
The Sacred Spring, a holly sight and platform for folk festivities and ceremonies, is widely famous for its curative features.
Students had a wonderful opportunity to touch the Sacred Spring waters, walk the hanging bridge that makes dreams come true, take part in folk games and funs and taste folk dishes, like kasha and perepech. An unforgettable experience became baking the national 'tabani' dish and surely the ritual of making wishes.
Traditional Udmurt hospitality was also marked out. Our kind hosts invited everyone to visit this wishes-fullfilling land again.
